“Dear Chief Justice Gesmundo, This has reference to the alleged remarks made by former Biliran Rep. Atty. Glenn Chong during a prayer rally in support of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI) that turned into an anti-Marcos rally. Atty. Chong purportedly stated his intention to slap first lady Atty. Liza Araneta-Marcos on her face. Such reprehensible remarks not only demoralize the dignity of Atty. Liza Araneta- Marcos as the first lady of our country but also reflect a disturbing attitude towards women in general.,” nakasaad sa liham na ipinadala kay Gesmundo ng Marso 15, ni Atty. Dankel Yelaogan na may subject na” Request for Investigation and Possible Disbarment of Former Biliran Representative Atty. Glenn Chong”.
“Such reprehensible remarks not only demoralize the dignity of Atty. Liza Araneta- Marcos as the first lady of our country but also reflect a disturbing attitude towards women in general. As citizens of the Philippines, we must uphold the principles of equality, respect and dignity for all individuals, regardless of their gender or position. This matter shall be thoroughly investigated by the appropriate authorities to warrant accountability and uphold the integrity of our legal profession,” sabi ni Yelaogan.
“Atty. Chong’s alleged remarks are not only unethical but also violative of the Code of Professional Responsibility and Accountability. If necessary, a disciplinary proceedings be initiated, including the possibility of disbarment, against Atty. Glenn Chong, Such actions are necessary to uphold the standards of professionalism and ethical conduct within the legal profession and to send a clear message that such behavior will not be tolerated,” dagdag ni Yelaogan na iginiit ang di katanggap tanggap umano na komento ng ginawa ng isang abogado.
Robert Ace Barbers at Surigao del Sur Rep.
That is conduct unbecoming of a gentleman… It is Women’s Month.
Ma. Luisa Macabuhay-Garcia
