BAHAGYANG tumaas ang dollar reserves ng bansa sa $75.49 billion noong Nobyembre, batay sa datos ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).
Mas mataas ito sa $74.71 billion na naitala noong Oktubre 2018 dahil sa inflows na nagmula sa foreign exchange operations ng BSP at sa income nito mula sa investments sa ibang bansa.
“However, the increase in the dollar reserve level was partially tempered by the payments made by the national government for its foreign exchange obligations and its net foreign currency withdrawals as well as the revaluation adjustments on the BSP’s gold holdings resulting from the decrease in the price of gold in the international market,” ayon sa central bank.
Sinabi ni BSP Governor Nestor Espenilla Jr. na ang dollar reserve level sa pagtatapos ng Nobyembre ng kasalukuyang taon ay patuloy na nagsisilbing sapat na external liquidity buffer.
Katumbas ito ng 6.9 buwang halaga ng pag-import ng mga produkto at pagbabayad ng serbisyo at primary income.
“It is also equivalent to 5.8 times the country’s short-term external debt based on original maturity and 4.1 times based on residual maturity.”
Tumaas din ang net international reserves ng $0.78 billion sa US$75.47 billion sa pagtatapos ng Nobyembre 2018 mula sa end-October 2018 level na $74.69 billion.
