Makati City, Philippines—The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has reinforced its commitment to driving the growth of e-commerce in the Philippines through the launch of its Online Negosyo Program (ONP) on October 10.
Spearheaded by the DTI’s E-Commerce Bureau (ECB), the event officially introduced the program aimed at equipping Filipino enterprises with the vital skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the digital marketplace.
“In line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s push for digital transformation, the DTI is dedicated to building an inclusive digital economy by partnering with key industry leaders,” said Secretary Cristina A. Roque.
“Through these collaborations, we are ensuring that local businesses gain the resources they need to adapt new technologies, advance their digital capabilities, and remain competitive in the rapidly evolving global market,” she added.
The program features a notable network of partners from the e-commerce ecosystem, including e-marketplaces, digital payment providers, last mile delivery service providers, among others. These partners will contribute their expertise to develop nine learning modules that cover a wide range of essential e-commerce topics.
The modules will discuss digital literacy, online presence building, digital marketing strategies, the use of Artificial Intelligence in business, cybersecurity measures, among others.
To ensure that the modules are meticulously crafted and effectively delivered, the DTI-ECB has also partnered with learning institutions such as Hapinoy, Thames International, and Bayan Academy.
Leveraging the resources of the Presidential Communications Office’s Bagong Pilipinas studios, the ONP modules will be produced with high-quality production values to make them engaging and accessible to a wide audience.
Moreover, these modules will be integrated into various DTI programs to complement the agency’s comprehensive efforts in supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises. They will also be readily available on the Department’s e-commerce microsite.
