TWENTY-TWO women from San Ildefonso, Bulacan were trained to create doormats as an alternative livelihood source on May 24, 2019.
DTI- Bulacan CARP personnel facilitated the conduct of a Skills Training in Doormat Making for the members of Samahang Mananahi ng Palapala in San Ildefonso, Bulacan.
The group does sub-contracting work, producing shorts and house dresses which are sold at public markets in the province. However, orders for their products are not quite regular and stable.
Thus, DTI- Bulacan CARP matched the group with the San Ildefonso Doormat Makers Association, Inc. (SIDMAI), a SSF cooperator which has regular markets for doormats in Divisoria, Tarlac, Palawan, and big retailers with several branches in Luzon.
