TULAD sa mga nagdaang lockdown ay muling nanawagan ang Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) sa publiko na huwag mag-panic buying.
Ayon sa DTI, hindi kailangang mag-panic buying ang mga nasa Metro Manila dahil may sapat na supply ng pagkain at maaar ring lumabas ng bahay para bumili ng essential supplies.
Kasabay nito ay sinabi ni Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez na walang magiging pagbabago o paggalaw sa presyo ng mga pangunahing bilihin habang nasa ilalim ng enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) ang Metro Manila.
Ayon kay Lopez, hindi muna maglalabas ng bagong suggested retail price (SRP) bulletin ang ahensiya.
“Pagdating sa bilihin, status quo tayo, ibig sabihin walang pagbabago. Wala pa tayong ilalabas na SRP bulletin lalo na ngayong mag-ECQ,” anang kalihim.
“On hold po iyon dahil inaaral pa natin ang request ng mga kompanya na nag-request ng price adjustment,” dagdag ni Lopez.
Ang Metro Manila ay muling isasailalim sa hard lockdown simula Agosto 6 hanggang Agosto 20 para mapigilan ang pagkalat ng mas mapanganib at mas mabilis makahawang COVID-19 Delta variant.
