IGINIIT ni dating Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque na nakahanda si dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na harapin ang mga kaso laban sa kanya ngunit sa mga lokal na korte lamang at hindi sa mga international court gaya ng International Criminal Court.
“Now that he is no longer president, he no longer has immunity. All those who have gripes or complaints against him should file their criminal complaints before a Philippine prosecutor and if there is probable cause, [he] is willing to face them but before a PH court,” ayon kay Roque.
Dagdag ni Roque, kung mapatutunayang nilabag niya ang humanitarian law, haharapin ni Duterte ang mga parusa.
“If he’s found guilty for violating Philippine [humanitarian] law which restates the crimes punishable under the ICC, then he will face the consequence and face time in a Philippine jail,” ayon kay Roque.
“Under no circumstance will he (Duterte) allow any foreign prosecutor and foreign judge and foreign court to exercise jurisdiction over him and this is consistent with the principle of complementarity,” dagdag pa niya. LIZA SORIANO
