ELITE PLAYERS MAGHAHATAWAN SA VOLLEYBALL WORLD BEACH PRO TOUR

PAPAGITNA ang mga elite player sa buong mundo sa pagpalo ng Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour (BPT) Challenge sa Nobyembre 30 sa Santa Rosa, Laguna.

Pangungunahan ng men’s world No. 1 Norway at  women’s top-ranked Brazil ang mga elite team mula sa mahigit 30 bansa na magpapasiklab sa newly-minted five FIVB-standard sand courts sa Nuvali sa harap ng Filipino crowd sa torneong itinataguyod ng Ayala Land Inc., City of Santa Rosa at ng Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF).

“Nuvali is the future of beach volleyball and it starts with the BPT Challenge,” wika ni PNVF president Ramon “Tats” Suzara sa press launch ng event noong Miyerkoles sa Philippine Sports Commission Conference Hall sa Manila.

Kasama ni Suzara sina Ayala Land vice president May Rodriguez at  Estate Development head Mark Manundo, PNVF secretary-general Donaldo Caringal, PSC commissioner Olivia “Bong” Coo at ang mga miyembro ng national beach volleyball teams.

“We are happy to welcome our national athletes and thankful to the PNVF for hosting such beautiful event,” sabi ni Rodriguez.

“There’re a lot of preparation to enjoy the upcoming events and we’re very excited.”

Ang Philippine team sa ilalim nina  Brazilian coach Joao Luciano Kiodai at Mayi Molit-Pochina ay binubuo nina men’s pairs Ran Abdilla at Jaron Requinton, James Buytrago at  Rancel Varga, at Alche Gupiteo at Anthony Arbasto, at women’s tandems Gen Eslapor at  Dij Rodriguez at newbie Sofia Pagara at Khylem Progella.

Makakaharap nila ang top teams mula sa USA, Australia, Italy, Canada, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Germany, Czech Republic at Poland.

Sasabak din ang mga koponan mula sa France, England, Portugal, China, Chile, Austria, Lithuania, Estonia, Switzerland, Oman, Thailand, Latvia, Japan, New Zealand, Israel, Spain, Turkey, Gambia, Morocco, Malaysia, Finland, Slovenia, Ukraine at Slovakia.

Magtatapos ang torneo sa December 4.

Ang Philippine leg ng  BPT ang huling torneo bago ang finals sa Dec. 6-9 sa Doha, Qatar matapos ang  16 legs sa Mexico, Brazil, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Canada, Germany, Latvia, Portugal, France, India, China at Thailand.

But more than making it to the BPT finals, the top teams are also duking out for the much-needed points to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The BPT is only the latest world-class tourney hosted by the PNVF after bringing home the VNL for two straight years much to the delight of the volleyball-loving Filipino crowd.
