HELLO to our Valued Readers. I am elated and really honored to have been given a space in the well-read Pilipino Mirror. After three years, I am back to writing. I could have turned down the offer to have a regular weekly column because I have a very busy schedule as a film director, actor, TV Host and talent manager to name a few. But I couldn’t resist writing. It is my first love. As they said, “First love never dies”.
The pandemic has created several “firsts” for everyone including people in show business. “First” that we don’t have regular projects. Andaming apektado sa krisis na ito. More so the displaced workers at ABS-CBN. As a director, I used to have at least one project a month but for the past 7 months, I only got one. I cannot complain because shootings are put to a halt because Covid 19 easily spreads. This invisible enemy has been claiming lives of several individuals. “First” also that we learned to discover our inner talents. Dahil nga sa bahay lang tayo, our pen-chant for writing, painting, crocheting etc have been developed. Mas nakapagsulat tayo ng maraming articles, maraming scripts and natuto tayong gagamitin ang ating creativity to paint, to bake at marami pang iba. Because of this, maraming showbiz people na natutong mag online business. Others even went up to the extent of doing a house to house selling of their products. Take the case of Erick Fructuoso.
Other celebrities should look at this as an example.
It can be recalled that he is in the Top 12 of the Bidaman competition in It’s Showtime. Magaling na singer din si John.
