PINAG-IINGAT ng Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) ang publiko laban sa pagbili at paggamit ng mga food supplement products ng isang multi-purpose cooperative, dahil hindi umano ito rehistrado sa kanilang tanggapan.
Sa inisyung Advisory No. 2018-319, tinukoy ng FDA ang mga produkto ng Nutriwealth Multi-Purpose Cooperative na hindi umano dumaan sa pagsusuri ng kanilang tanggapan kaya’t hindi batid ang kalidad at pagiging epektibo ng mga ito.
Kabilang dito ang Blumea balsamifera Sambong Capsule Natural Food Supplement, Nutriwealth Cooperative Alkaline Powder, Moringa Oleifera Malunggay Capsule Natural Food Supplement, Nutriwealth Cooperative Serpentina Capsule, Garcinia Mangostana Mangosteen Capsule Natural Food Supplement, Annona Muricata Guyabano Capsule Natural Food Supplement, Nutriwealth Cooperative Saw Palmetto Capsule, Alkaline Capsule Natural Food Supplement, Curcuma Longa Turmeric Capsule Natural Food Supplement, Nutriwealth Cooperative Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Nutriwealth Cooperative Alkaline Mineral Drops, at Nutriwealth Cooperative Eent Drops.
“FDA post-marketing surveillance (PMS) activities have verified that the above-mentioned food products have not gone through the registration process of the agency and have not been issued the proper authorization in the form of Certificate of Product Registration. Pursuant to Republic Act No. 9711, otherwise known as the Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009, the manufacture, importation, exportation, sale, offering for sale, distribution, transfer, non-consumer use, promotion, advertising or sponsor-ship of health products without the proper authorization from FDA is prohibited,” bahagi ng abiso ng FDA.
“Accordingly, since unregistered food products have not gone through evaluation and testing process of the FDA, the agency cannot guarantee their quality and safety. The consumption of such violative products may pose potential health hazard to the consuming public,” sabi pa.
“In light of the foregoing, the public is advised not to purchase the aforementioned violative products. Moreover, the public is advised to be vigilant against food products that might not be duly registered with FDA.”
Pinayuhan pa ng FDA ang publiko na tiyaking ang mga food product na kanilang bibilhin ay rehistrado sa FDA upang masiguro ang kaligtasan at pagiging epektibo ng mga ito. ANA ROSARIO HERNANDEZ
