MAAARI na ngayong katawanin ni Fil-Hawaiian spiker Kalei Mau ang Filipinas sa international competitions.

Inanunsiyo kahapon ng Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) na inaprubahan na ng International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) ang eligibility ni Mau na maglaro para sa bansa.

Si Mau ay nakatakda sanang maglaro para sa national team noong 2019 Southeast Asian Games subalit hindi pina-yagan dahil sa affiliation niya sa USA volleyball.

Inihayag din ng PNVF na nakakuha na ng visa si Brazilian coach Jorge Edson Souza de Brito, na inaasahang tutulong sa paghahanda ng women’s team para sa iba’t ibang kompetisyon ngayong taon tulad ng Asian Women’s Seniors Championship sa Pampanga at 2021 SEA Games sa Vietnam.

“These are a couple of good news for Philippine volleyball. With Coach Jorge flying in soon and Mau already available to play for the coun-try, we can now go on full throttle for the women’s national team training,” wika ni PNVF chief Ramon ‘Tats’ Suzara.

Ang foreign mentor, nagwagi ng gold medal sa 1992 Barcelona Olympics bilang miyembro ng Brazilian national team, ay makakatuwang ni interim head coach Odjie Mamon.
