KINILALA ng Department of Trade and Industry-Foreign Trade Service Corps (DTI-FTSC) ng Information Technology Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) Crystal Flare para sa Kindler Award sa isang seremonya sa ginanap na “Flare Awards” kamakailan sa The Peninsula Manila.
Nakuha ng FTSC ang pagkilala dahil sa kanilang pagsisikap na lumawig ang information technology and business process management (IT-BPM) industry ng bansa. Tinanggap ni Emmanuel W. Ang, executive director ng ahensiya ang parangal bilang kinayawan ng FTSC.
“The FTSC supports the goal of IBPAP in sustaining the growth of the industry and its shift to higher value added services,” sabi ni Ang noong awarding ceremony.
Pinamamahalaan ni Undersecretary Nora Terrado ng DTI’ Trade and Investments Promotions Group, ang FTSC ay may 28 opisina sa ibang bansa na nagsisilbing overseas frontline agency na nagtataguyod ng exports and facilitating inward direct investments.
Sa kabilang banda, ang IBPAP, ay asosasyon ng IT-BPM players sa bansa, na may mahigit na 300 support-industry members kasama ang six-partner associations. Inorganisa ng grupo ang Flare Awards para ipagdiwang ang tagumpay at kilalanin ang mga malalakas sa Philippine IT-BPM industry.
Ayon kay Terrado, ang IT-BPM services na inialok ng Filipinas ay nakapagpalawak na ng complex works tulad ng omni-channel customer relationship management service.
Ang mga handog na ito sabi niya, ay may ayuda ng artificial intelligence, software services, game development and animation, healthcare information management services, finance at accounting, at global shared services
“Through the years, the Philippines has proven to be an effective offshore service delivery partner to global companies for their customer support and business management processes,” dagdag pa ni Terrado
Tinatantiya ng IBPAP na ang IT-BPM industry ng bansa ay lumikha ng 1.15 million direct jobs at P3.67 million indirect jobs noong 2016. Samantala, noong 2015, nakapag-rekord ang Philippine Statistics Authority ng ₱461.4 billion kita dala ng industriya mula sa transaksiyon sa labas ng bansa.
Ginarantiyahan naman ni DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez na patuloy na susuporta ang gobyerno sa sektor, habang ito ay patuloy na nagiging isa sa mga poste ng ekonomiya ng bansa.
“Progressive strides on improving ease of doing business and country competitiveness are anticipated to promote the sustained growth in the sector,” sabi niya.
“With digitization and disruptive technologies changing the industry landscape and transforming workforce, interventions across the skill spectrum are also being done to add value to stakeholders,” dagdag pa nito.
“The expansion of the IT-BPM sector into centers outside Metro Manila is encouraged to further spur inclusive growth benefitting the economy as a whole.”
