ITONG buwan ng Oktubre has been a month of entertaining news.
Samantala, ‘wannabe’ politicians are not required to do so. – hello!
DALAWANG BOOBA
Sikat ang dalawang ale na ito. Una, pareho silang nakakatawa. Honest ang kanilang mga opinyon at patutsada. Hindi pretentious kaya refreshing. And of course, pareho kasing naglalakihan ang mga dib-dib nila. I’m pretty sure dahil iyon sa ‘Salamat Doktor!’
Possible risks include:
• Anesthesia risks.
• Bleeding.
• Hematoma.
• Infection.
• Changes in nipple or breast sensation.
• Poor healing.
• Faulty position of the implant.
• Implant leakage or rupture.
• Scarring around the implant.
• Fluid accumulation.
• Wrinkling of the skin over the implant.
• Persistent pain.
• Possibility of revision surgery.
• Implants are not guaranteed to last a lifetime.
• Pregnancy, weight loss and menopause may influence breast appearance.
May mas mura, may mahal. May high tech at low tech. May medyo safe, at may sobrang hindi safe. Narito ang ilan:
• Saline breast implants – are filled with sterile salt water. Should the implant leak, it will collapse and the saline will be absorbed and expelled by the body.
• Structured implants – are also filled with sterile salt water, but contain an inner structure which aims to make the implant feel more natural.
• Silicone breast implants – are filled with silicone gel. The gel feels a bit more like natural breast tissue. If the implant leaks, the gel may remain within the shell, or may escape into the breast pocket.
• Gummy bear breast implants – the consistency of the silicone gel inside the implant is thicker and firmer than traditional silicone gel implants. If a shaped implant rotates, it may lead to an unusual appearance of the breast.
• Round breast implants – have a tendency to make breasts appear fuller than form-stable implants. However they look more unnatural.
• Smooth breast implants – are the softest feeling. They can move with the breast implant pocket, which may give more natural movement. Smooth implants may have some visible rippling under the skin.
• Textured breast implants – develop scar tissue to stick to the implant, making them less likely to move around inside of the breast and become repositioned.
PAANO GINAGAWA
• Step 1, Anesthesia – Medications are administered for comfort during the surgical procedure. The choices include intravenous sedation and general anesthesia.
• Step 2, Incision – Options include, along the areolar edge (peri-areolar), the fold under the breast (inframammary fold) and in the armpit (axillary). Incisions vary based on the type of breast implant, degree of enlargement desired, patient’s anatomy and preference.
• Step 3, Inserting and placement – After the incision is made, a breast implant is inserted into a pocket either submuscular (under the pectoral muscle) and subglandular (directly behind the breast tissue).
• Step 4, Closing – Incisions are closed with layered sutures in the breast tissue and with sutures, skin adhesive or surgical tape to close the skin.
• Surgery to remove the whole breast (mastectomy) or to remove just the tumor and tissues around it (lumpectomy) or breast-conserving surgery.
• Radiation therapy, uses high-energy waves to kill cancer cells.
• Chemotherapy uses drugs to kill cancer cells. As these powerful medicines fight the disease, they also can cause side effects, like nausea, hair loss, early menopause, hot flashes, and fatigue.
• Hormone therapy uses drugs to prevent hormones (estrogen) from fueling the growth of breast cancer cells. Medicines include tamoxifen and aromatase inhibitors.
• Targeted therapy medicines prompt the body’s immune system to destroy cancer. They target breast cancer cells that have high levels of a protein called HER2.
• Natural therapies include complementary herbal medicines, nutritional supplementation, and other new technologies.
