“GOODBYE TENSION, HELLO PENSION, PCSO HONORS TWO (2) RETIREES”

Mandaluyong City. During the flag ceremony held on April 4, 2022 at the back of the Conservatory Grounds, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) revived its Retirement Program entitled “Handog Pasasalamat para sa Serbisyong Tapat” through Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) wherein the agency recognizes the valuable effort of its retirees of the agency.

One of the retirees was Mr. Reynaldo P. Martin, who rendered 24 years of relentless public service to PCSO. He started his journey at PCSO on April 30, 1998 as Chief Lottery Operations Officer at the Northern and Central Luzon Department (NCL) and ended up as the Head of Isabela Branch.

Mr. Martin was emotional in delivering his parting message to all his Assistant General Managers (AGMs) in both Gaming Sector and Branch Operations Sector (BOS) including his past and present Department Managers (DMs) in the NCL Department. Special shout out to his colleagues in different branch offices in Pampanga, Bulacan, Bataan, Zambales, Nueva Ecija, Aurora and Isabela wherein he dedicated much of his time. He also has high hopes for the talented newcomers saying “Now that I reached my compulsory retirement it’s time for the younger personnel which I believe have big potential to continue and surpass what I achieved in this agency.”

Another notable retiree was Ms. Roda Marie N. Lozano of the Medical Services Department (MSD). She began her career in PCSO as casual employee on May 16, 1984 before she was promoted as a permanent Staff Nurse on January 2, 1985.

With a Masters Degree in Business Administration, Ms. Lozano also known as “Inang Reyna” to her colleagues and known to be delightful in rendering and dedicating her 38 years in PCSO as one of the iconic people in the Medical Services Department.

In her speech, she expressed her gratitude to former Sweepstakes Employees Union (SEU) President, the late Jose “Ka Pepe” Magsumbol and to her past and present DMs Dr. Cynthia San Pablo and Dr. Joby Gochoco for developing her supervisory skills. Special mention to her former mentor DM Reynaldo Carbonel for enhancing her personality to handle everything in work and honing her leadership abilities.

Lastly, with teary eyes she emotionally gave her parting message to her MSD and PCSO family “Maraming-maraming salamat po sa aking MSD and PCSO family lalo na po sa aking mga alaga at anak-anakan kong nurses who supported me all the way. I owe you a lot. I will treasure every memories we shared together and to my PCSO family the best kayong lahat para sa akin. Thank you PCSO.”

Notable highlight of the event is the awarding of plaque as token of appreciation to the two (2) retirees.
