IPINAGMALAKI ni Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development on Secretary Eduardo Del Rosario ang record-breaking performance ng nakalipas na taon sa selebrasyon kahapon ng ika-3 anibersaryo ng ahensiya na may temang “Providing decent homes for Filipino families.”
Sa ginanap na press conference, ipinarating ni Del Rosario na napagtagumpayan at nagkaroon ng malaking progreso ang kanilang mga programang pabahay ng DHSUD.
“Our performance and the accomplishments of our key shelter agencies can speak for itself. The record-breaking achievements of our KSAs bring forth outstanding service excellence as we continue to perform to better serve the Filipino people,” saad ni Sec. Del Rosario.
“We did not only increase the number of houses that we built – we actually established high standards in developing housing communities that are sustainable and resilient. We help secure the future of our home dwellers, especially the underprivileged. With the high quality of our housing units thereby upholding their dignity and pride,” dagdag pa ng kalihim.
Ani del Rosario, nananatiling masigla ang housing sector sa kabila ng matinding epekto dulot ng Covid-19 sa bansa bunsod ng matibay na pakikipag tulungan ng pamahalaan at pribadong sektor partikular ang private developers.
Sa kanyang mensahe, tinukoy ng DHSUD chief ang accomplishments sa housing sector sa loob ng nagdaang limang taon kung saan nakapagtala ito ng best performance pagdating sa annual housing production at financing na may naitalang average na 195,687 kada taon na pinakamataas sa mga nagdaang anim na administrasyon simula noong 1975.
Binanggit din ni Del Rosario na simula 2016 hanggang 2021, nakapagpagawa at nakapag-finance ang housing sector ng mahigit sa 1.07 milyong housing units kasunod ang pag-asa makakamit ang mahigit 100 porsiyentong target sa ilalim ng Philippine Development Plan na itinakda ng National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) ng hanggang katapusan ng 2022.
