DAAN-DAANG displaced workers at unemployed sa lalawigan ng Ilocos Norte ang magkakasama-sama ngayong araw sa isang employment at livelihood caravan na isasagawa ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), sa pakikipagtulungan ng iba pang ahensiya ng pamahalaan.
Inaasahang dadaluhan ni DOLE Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III ang okasyon na tatampukan ng iba’t ibang programa at serbisyo na isinasagawa ng ahensiya para tulungan ang mga Ilocano na makarekober mula sa pandemya.
Ang caravan ay inaasahan ding makapagbibigay ng public awareness sa blueprint ng pamahalaan na magkaloob ng trabaho, business opportunities at livelihood sa milyon-milyong Pilipino sa buong bansa.
Sa ilalim ng blueprint, ang mga trabaho ay magmumula sa key employment generating sectors (KEGS), tulad ng manufacturing, food processing, construction, tourism, Information Technology-Business Process Management (IT-BPM), transportation and logistics, at retail trade.
Ayon kay Anne Marie Lizette B. Atuan, manager ng Provincial Public Employment Service Office, hindi bababa sa 300 indibidwal ang makikinabang sa employment at livelihood assistance program ng DOLE.
