HINDI bababa sa 200,000 trabaho ang inaasahang maibabalik sa pagpapatupad ng general community quarantine (GCQ) na may “heightened restrictions” sa NCR Plus simula ngayong araw, ayon kay Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez.
“Dito sa pagbukas ulit ngayon [ng ekonomiya], maaaring may maibalik pa na maybe 200,000 to 300,000 na trabaho para at least, mapababa pa ang mga nawalan ng trabaho starting from the [enhanced community quarantine],” sabi ni Lopez sa isang panayam sa radyo.
Ayon kay Lopez, nang ipatupad ang ECQ — ang pinakamahigpit na quarantine classification — sa NCR Plus na kinabibilangan ng Metro Manila, Rizal, Bulacan, Cavite at Laguna noong nakaraang Marso, may 1.5 million Pinoy ang nawalan ng trabaho.
Nabawasan, aniya, ito sa 1 million sa pagpapatupad ng modified ECQ noong Abril.
Sinabi ng kalihim na sa kasalukuyan, ang mga nawalan ng trabaho ay bumaba na sa 700,000 makaraang payagan ng pamahalaan ang limitadong operasyon ng ilang establisimiyento tulad ng dine-in restaurants, salons at barber shops kahit naka-MECQ.
Ang NCR Plus ay isinailalim ni Presidene Rodrigo Duterte sa heightened GCQ mula Mayo 15 hanggang Mayo 31, 2021.
Kabilang sa economic activities na pinapayagan sa ilalim ng bagong quarantine classification ay indoor dine-in services na may 20% venue o seating capacity, outdoor o al fresco dining sa 50% venue o seating capacity, at outdoor tourism.
