(Inaasahan sa pagsuspinde sa LGU pass-through fees) BAWAS-PRESYO SA BILIHIN

UMAASA ang Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) na ang kautusan ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na ipatigil ang koleksiyon ng “pass-through” fees ng local government units (LGUs) sa lahat ng sasakyan na nagdadala ng paninda at kalakal ay magreresulta sa pagbaba ng presyo ng mga bilihin.

Sa isang news forum, sinabi ni DTI Undersecretary for Communications and Legislative Affairs Maria Blanca Kim Bernard-Lokin na ang inilabas na Executive Order No. 41 ay direktang tutugon sa kalagayan at hinaing ng mga consumer.

Kasama sa ipinatitigil ni Pangulong Marcos ang koleksiyon ng sticker fees, discharging fees, delivery fees, market fees, toll fees, entry fees, Mayor’s Permit fees at iba pa.

Ayon sa Pangulo, hangad niyang ibaba ang gastos sa food logistics para makontrol ang epekto ng inflation rate sa bansa.

Layon ng EO ang mas mabisang paggalaw ng mga paninda at kalakal sa mga rehiyon upang buhayin ang mga lokal na industriya.

“The unauthorized imposition of passthrough fees has a significant impact on transportation and logistics costs, which are often passed on to consumers, who ultimately bear the burden of paying for the increase in prices of goods and commodities,” nakasaad sa executive order.

Ayon kay Lokin, sa average, ang logistical costs — na kinabibilangan ng pass-through fees na kinokolekta ng LGUs, at krudo — ay bumubuo sa 30% ng actual retail price ng mga produktong ibinebenta sa mga pamilihan.

“So 30% of the actual cost of the products we buy, about 30% of that, on average, comes from logistical costs,” ani Lokin.

“So it would be a great deal if that passthrough fees would be removed because, in turn, it will reduce the cost of goods that we buy in the market,” aniya.
