UMABOT sa kabuuang P230.02 billion na loans ang ipinalabas ng Land Bank of the Philippines sa sektor ng agrikultura sa unang limang buwan ng taon.
Sa isang statement, sinabi ng state lender na may 2.7 milyong magsasaka at mangingisda ang nabiyayaan ng pautang, kasama ang agribusiness enterprises at mga kaugnay na proyekto ng local government units (LGUs) at state-run firms.
Tinukoy ang report ni Landbank president and CEO Cecilia Borromeo kay Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III, sinabi ng Landbank na ang halaga ng loan ay mas mataas ng P73 million sa P229.29 billion na naitala noong Abril 2021 at 81.6% na ng 2021 target ng bangko na P281.75 billion.
Mula sa 2,703,249 magsasaka at mangingisda na tinulungan ng Landbank hanggang noong Abril, may 31,323 pa ang inayudahan ng state lender sa pamamagitan ng soft loans, subsidies at financial literacy training programs.
“This brings the total number of farmers and fishers assisted by the Landbank as of May 31, 2021 to 2,734.572,” ayon sa Landbank.
“Of the loan releases of P230.02 billion, the bank said that close to two-thirds or P145.85 billion went to small, medium and large agribusinesses enterprises, while the remaining amount of P84.17 billion went to small farmers and fisherfolk (P34.79 billion) and the agri-aqua related projects of LGUs and government-owned and controlled corporations or GOCCs (P49.38 billion),” dagdag pa ni Borromeo.
Ang maliliit na magsasaka at mangingisda ay nakahiram ng kabuuang P1.24 billion sa pamamagitan ng direct lending, at karagdagang P33.55 billion sa pamamagitan ng conduits tulad ng mga kooperatiba at farmers’ associations, rural financial institutions at iba pang credit mechanisms.
