MATAPOS ang dalawang sunod na buwan ng bawas-singil, magpapatupad ang Manila Electric Company ng power rate hike ngayong buwan dahil sa mas mataas na generation cost sa gitna ng manipis na suplay sa Luzon sa panahon ng tag-init.
Sa abiso ng Meralco, tataas ang singil sa koryente ng P0.0872 per kilowatt-hour sa P8.4067/kWh mula sa P8.3195/kWh noong Marso.
Katumbas ito ng P17 sa total bill ng residential customers na kumokonsumo ng 200 kWh, P26 sa mga kumokonsumo ng 300 kWh, P35 sa mga kumokonsumo ng 400 kWh, at P44 sa mga kumokonsumo ng 500 kWh.
Sa kabila nito, sinabi ng Meralco na ang overall rate sa Abril ay nasa P8.5884/kWh pa rin na mas mababa sa P8.9951/kWh noong nakaraang taon.
“This month’s rate also still includes the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC)-approved adjustments for pass-through over/under-recoveries for the period January 2017 to December 2019,” ayon pa sa Meralco.
