IMINUNGKAHI ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) na magkaroon ng batas para sa mga delivery rider.

Ayon kay Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, ito ay para na rin sa proteksiyon ng mga rider.

“Kailangan talaga ng batas para ma-cover itong relation ng ating mga riders at platforms,” ani Bello.

Kamakailan ay naglabas ng advisory ang DOLE upang maisaayos ang relasyon ng delivery riders at  food delivery companies.

Ayon pa kay Bello, nakasaad sa Labor Code of the Philippines na ang mga delivery rider ay mga empleyado ng food delivery apps at dapat mayroon ding minimum benefits. LIZA SORIANO
