ISINUSULONG ni da­ting senador  Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos, Jr. ang agarang paglalagda at pagpapatupad ng  multi-party agreements (MPAs) ng  local go­vernment units (LGUs) at private entities sa gob­yerno upang palakasin ang pag-import ng coronavirus vaccines.

Sinabi ni Marcos na dapat aksiyunan agad at ipatupad ang MPAs dahil sa nakaaalarmang babala ng  World Health Organization (WHO) na kumakalat na ang  nakahahawang Covid Delta variant  sa bansa at isa nang  dominant virus strain.

“We need to have more people vaccinated, more so now because the Delta variant is now the driving force behind the recent ballooning of Covid cases across the country. And we could only do that if the MPAs are enforced because it would widen the gateway of incoming vaccine supplies,” ayon pa kay Marcos.

Ang tinutukoy ni Marcos ay ang  tripartite accord sa pagitan ng pamahalaang nasyonal at lokal at pribadong sektor sa pagbili  ng  vaccine na umano’y naiisantabi.

Sa ilalim ng  Republic Act 11525, o ang  Covid19 Vaccination Program Act of 2021, ang LGUs at private entities ay maaring bumili  ng kanilang supply na bakuna sa pamamagitan ng  multi-party agreements (MPA) sa gobyerno.

Nauna rito ay inihayag ni Marcos na ang naturang kasunduan ay mistulang sinuspinde sa kabila ng panawagan ng  local officials at mga lider ng  pribadong sektor na lagdaan na ang    MPA ng pamahalaan.

Dagdag nito na isang  resolusyon ang isinampa na sa Senado na humihikayat sa Committee of the Whole na pag-aralan ang MPAs na iniulat na naisumite na sa pamahalaang nasyonal subalit hindi pa pirmado ng kanilang mga kinatawan.

“We have already seen that the LGUs are ready and capable of handling the vaccine rollout. Pero nagiging on and off ang roll out sa kakapusan ng vaccines. Dito sa Metro Manila, lalo na sa mga probinsya,” ayon pa kay Marcos.
