JAKE had the rare chance to sing a duet with Jessica Sanchez, the runner-up of American Idol Season 11,
in his concert at the Skydome a few days ago. He sang “The Prayer” with her.
“Matagal na po kaming magkaibigan,” said Jake in obvious reference to Jessica.
Jessica Sanchez, incidentally, is a Fil-Am singer who was born to a Filipino mother from the Bataan province. Nagbalik-tanaw naman siya after singing with Kyla. “Noong sumali ako noon sa Little Big Star, kami (ni Kyla) ang magka-duet noon.” Known as Charice back then, the young singer emerged as the 3rd placer at the ABS-CBN reality singing competition.
Jake showed his expertise in playing guitar when he performed songs of Nirvana. “Kurt Cobain changed my life,” he said in obvious reference to the lead singer of Nirvana. He performed Nirvana’s “Come As You Are” and “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”
But the highlight of the evening came when Jake performed with Inigo Pascual the Justin Bieber song “What Do You Mean?”
“Si Inigo po ang long-lost brother ko,” he said referring to the son of heartthrob Piolo Pascual.
Sa recorded video interview na ipinakita ng gabing ‘yun, sinabi ni Jake na natuto siyang mag-appreciate ng classical music when he did a duet of “The Prayer” with world-renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli in July 2008.
Jake was accompanied by a choir when he performed Josh Groban’s “To Where You Are.”
KZ Tandingan pulled out a surprise appearance when she sang “One Call Away” for Jake who turned 26 last May 10.
“Umiiyak ka pa kaya ako muna ang chi-chika,” KZ intoned upon seeing that Jake was visibly moved and was rendered speechless because of her surprise appearance.
Jake said about KZ, who showed her mettle as a singer when she competed in the Chinese show Singer 2018, “I am so proud of you. You deserve it. I want to see someone who will make it there. Stay who you are. Jake thanked his fans enormously.
“Kahit magpalit ka pa ng pangalan mo next year,” KZ asseverated, “mahal ka pa rin namin. Magkamali ka man, hindi ka namin iiwan.”

At any rate, it cannot be denied that she is now a parody of her former beauty.
Kung dati’y maganda talaga siya at eskalera ang beauty, ngayo’y halatang-halata na ang kanyang mga retoke at markadong-markadong na siya.
Pagdating naman sa pag-arte, parang katawa-tawa naman ang kanyang parang pag-e-emote sa mga dramatic scene na sa halip na madala ang mga tao ay natatawa dahil very much wanting of sincerity.
Huwag na siyang mag-attempt na maging isang dramatic actress dahil pangmoro-moro ang kanyang brand of acting.
Pangmoro-moro raw, o! Hahahahaha!
No wonder, no one appears to be interested to watch their soap.
