DATI pinakaiiwasan ni Jason Abalos ang mi­yembro ng LGBT pero ngayo’y love na niya sila.  He is slated to delineate a transgender woman in GMA’s Asawa Ko, Karibal Ko.

Anyway, napag-usapan ang paglipat niya sa GMA-7 kung saan nagkasunod-sunod na ang kanyang proyekto.

Lumipat ba siya October of last year primarily because he was wanting of work?

“Hindi naman,” he demurs. “Gusto ko lang mag-explore.”

For example nga raw ay ang kanyang unique role sa latest project niyang Asawa Ko, Karibal Ko.

“First show ko sa GMA romcom (romantic comedy), na matagal kong hindi ginagawa. Itong panibago, babae naman ako… parang ang dami palang puwede gawin.”

Sa bagong panghapong serye ng GMA7 na Asawa Ko, Karibal Ko, gagam­panan naman niya ang role ng isang transwoman.

Looking back, Jason bluntly admitted that when he was a lot younger, he was pretty scared of gays.

“Inamin ko dati na ilag ako (sa kanila),” he openly confessed. “Nu’ng nagsisimula ako (sa showbiz) pagpunta ng Manila.”

But right now, he knew that other people have different kinds of sexual orientations.

“Ako,” he admitted, “lahat ng taong tumutulong sa akin ay nasa LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) community. So, malaking bagay sa akin ang pagmamahal nila.”

FILM DIRECTOR SAMANTHA LEE NAIRITA SA KAKULITAN NG ISANG TABLOID REPORTER

KINAUSAP daw ni Samantha Lee ang isang entertainment columnist na nangungulit na aminin niyang siya raw ang dahilan kung bakit nag-split ang Kapamilya actor-singer na si Sam Milby sa kanyang TV host/model/blogger former girlfriend Mari Jasmine, who happens to be Samantha’s present girlfriend.

The controversial director has staged a dramatic walkout when a tabloid writer persisted his point of view at the grand launch of QCinema International Film Festival 2018 last October 5, that was held at the Gloria Maris restaurant, Gateway Mall, Quezon City.

Before the said incident, Samantha positioned herself, right after the presscon proper, near the wide screen so that she could watch the promo-plug of QCinema.

At this juncture, a tabloid writer accosted the sweet-imaged direktor and started to interview her.

Nilapitan din ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) si Direk Samantha for an interview and since nasa tabi ng speaker ang table, ni-request nilang lumipat ng puwesto para mas malinaw ang interbyuhan.

The reporter was in the middle of asking Samantha about her girlfriend Mari and he was most persistent that the lady in question and Sam Milby had a parting of ways because of her.

Paano nga namang mangyayari ‘yun samantalang Setyembre 2017 naghiwalay sina Mari at Sam at June 2018 naman naging open sina Direk sa kanilang relasyon.

Anyway, nairita raw ang direktor dahil sa kawalan ng respeto ng writer.

“Kasi,” she explained, “this is about Billie and Emma and if you wanna ask me about my film or interview my actors, go ahead.”

At this point, the tabloid reporter explained that his purpose in interviewing the competent director is to be able to get her side of the story since he believed that she is unfairly being judged.

Minsan pa, inulit ni Samantha ang dahilan kung bakit siya nairita sa reporter. Tinanong daw siya nito and she already answered but he was trying to push his point of view.

Nag-sorry naman ang tabloid reporter. Hindi raw niya narinig ang paliwanag ng direktor dahil maingay sa venue.
