In an attempt to save their livelihoods, jeepney drivers hold placards during a rally on the second day of the transport strike against the implementation of the public utility vehicle (PUV) consolidation program deadline, April 30, 2024, at Liwasang Bonifacio.
The PUV consolidation is a program under the PUV modernization program (PUVMP) which requires jeepney operators to consolidate into corporations or cooperatives for them to be allowed to ply routes.
