PINAWI ni Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Camilo Cascolan ang pangamba ng mga evacuee na mabiktima ng pagnanakaw o looting makaraang iwan ang kanilang tahanan para lumipat sa mas ligtas na lugar sa kasagsagan ng pananalasa ng mga Bagyong Rolly at Siony.
Sinabi ni Cascolan sa panayam ng PILIPINO Mirror na kasama sa kanilang contingency plan at preparasyon ang pagbabantay sa mga ari-arian ng mga apektado ng kalamidad.
Ginawa ng PNP chief ang pahayag upang makumbinse ang mga tao na sumunod sa ipinatupad na forced evacuation para sa kanilang kaligtasan.
“Kadalasan kaya may resistant sa paglikas sa ating kababayan ay sa pangambang manakawan, kaya naman tinitiyak namin na babantayan ang kanilang tahanan, kabuhayan at alagang hayop,” ayon kay Cascolan.
Sinabi ng heneral na bahagi ng kanilang preparasyon ang hakbang kasama na ang search and rescue operation, disaster response habang una nang nagpamigay ng relief goods ang pulisya mula sa kanilang itinatag na Food Bank.
Bukod sa pag-alalay sa mga apektado ng magkasunod na Bagyong Rolly at Siony, mahigit 4,000 pulis ang idineploy sa mga lugar na pinuntirya habang inalerto na rin ang Directorate for Integrated Police (DIPO), Regional Directors, provincial directors at maging ang Police Maritime Group. EUNICE C.
