KINUMPIRMA ng Quezon City government na 82 pulis mula sa Talipapa Station 3, Novaliches na itinalaga sa huling State of the Nation Address (SONA) ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa Quezon City noong Lunes ang nagpositibo sa COVID-19 at ngayon ay naka-quarantine na sa Hope facilities sa lungsod.
Noong Hulyo 23, Biyernes ay isinailalim sa swab tests ang mga nasabing pulis bilang bahagi ng programa ng QC LGU sa pagsasagawa ng ‘free routine testing’ sa kanilang mga ‘frontliner’ na madalas na lantad sa nakahahawang virus.
Ayon kay Quezon City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit (CESU) Chief Dr. Rolando Cruz, sa 161 personnel na nakatalaga sa Talipapa Station 3 na sumailalim sa test, 79 dito ang negatibo, habang ang 82 ay nagpositibo sa COVID-19.
Kabilang sa nagpositibo ang mga nakatalaga sa Police Community Precinct 1 (Unang Sigaw) at Police Community Precinct 2 (Bahay Toro). Ang mga ito ay asymptomatic at fully vaccinated na.
“The first 48 positive cases were already admitted to several of our HOPE facilities last night, July 27.
The other 34 will be admitted today,” ani Cruz.
Sa kabila nito, sinabi ni Talipapa Police Station 3 Commander Lt. Col. Cristine Tabdi na nananatili pa ring ‘operational’ ang kanilang istasyon sa pagtanggap ng mga report o complaint sa ‘outdoor receiving area’ pero bawal ang bisita.
Tiniyak din ni Tabdi na kaniyang paiimbestigahan kung paano nagkaroon ng ‘outbreak’ ng virus sa loob ng istasyon.
“The city government is prepared to contain the spread of the virus. Our CESU has the capability to deal with this situation. We request the public not to panic, especially the communities in which the precincts where these police personnel were assigned. We are appealing to anyone who is experiencing symptoms to please call 122 and inform CESU immediately,” ayon naman kay QC Mayor Belmonte.
Inutusan din ng alkalde ang lahat ng 16 station commanders na tiyakin ang pagkakaroon ng minimum health protocols sa kanilang mga lugar.
