MAY potensyal na kumita ng milyon milyong piso ang napakalawak na rolling terrain sa malamig na kabundukan ng mga lalawigang sakop ng Cordillera Autonomous Region (CAR) gaya sa Benguet kung gagawin itong tea farms na makakatulong na mapalakas ang programa sa ecotourism at environmental protection.
Ayon kay Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) President Dr. Cecilio Pedro, makakatulong ito ng husto sa poverty alleviation ng gobyerno at maaari pang matanghal ang Pilipinas bilang isa sa world class tea producers.
Pahayag pa ng FFCCCII at maging China Embassy sa Pilipinas , “ We support the modernization of Philippine agriculture, including the development of tea plantations because tea is a popular global commodity and it is a very healthy drink for people.”
Ayon pa sa Chinese Embassy, ang mga lugar gaya ng Benguet province ay tamang-tama sa pagtatanim ng high value crop ng tea.
Ipinahayag nina China Embassy Second Secretary Bai Xun at Attache Cao Mengdi, “we support the proposed propagation of tea plantations in northern Philippines not only to assist Philippine socio-economic development, but also to promote tea culture and appreciation as a way of life. “
Dagdag pa ni Bai Xun, marami sa mountainous rural areas ng China ay natulungan ng tea plantations para maiangat ang kabuhayan ng kanilang mga mamamayan sa pamamagitang ng pang angat sa kita ng rural farming communities.
“All sectors of the Philippines should help Cordillera region farmers develop Philippine tea plantations for economic benefits and also for its tourism potentials too,” ani FFCCCII Public Information and Media Committee Chairman Wilson Lee Flores.
