Si Go ay matatandaang naghain ng kanyang Certificate of Candidacy sa pagka-bise presidente noong Oktubre 2, kasama si Pang. Rodrigo Duterte. Aniya, ang kanyang desisyong tumakbo ay tulak ng kanyang pagnanais na ipagpatuloy ang legasiya ng administrasyong Duterte.
Nangako rin siyang magiging isang “working vice president,” at binigyang-diin na hindi siya magiging ‘spare tire’ lamang, kundi isang public servant na maaaring sulingan ng mga ordinaryong mamamayan.
Sinabi pa ni Go na ang pagpapatuloy ng legasiya ni Pang. Duterte ay magiging bahagi ng kanyang vice presidential platform.
“Pagpatuloy ko ‘yung magagandang programa na inumpisahan ni Pangulong Duterte. Nabanggit ko kanina, campaign against drugs, campaign against corruption in government, campaign against criminality, more (infrastructure) projects… Build, Build, Build. And, of course, economic recovery natin. ‘Yung pagbigay ng trabaho at pagsugpo ng kahirapan at gutom,” aniya pa.
“Bigyan ho natin ng trabaho ‘yung mga nawalan po ng trabaho, ‘yon po unahin natin. Tulungan po natin ang ating mga kababayan na makabangon po. Magsipag, maging productive po… Mga nagsara na negosyo, tulungan rin po natin,” dagdag pa niya.

“Tuloy-tuloy na po ang aking kandidatura bilang Vice President. At gagawin ko po ang lahat ng aking makakaya na maipagpapatuloy ang mga programa po na naumpisahan po ni Pangulong Duterte,” aniya.
Bilang vice presidential aspirant, sinabi rin ni Go na maaari siyang makipagtrabaho kahit sino man ang mapagpasyahan ng mga mamamayan na ihalal bilang pangulo.
