KEN CHAN PANG-AWARD ANG ROLE NA PERSON WITH AUTISM

SA ITINATAKBO ng serye ng My Special Tatay, hindi kami magtataka kung makasungkit ng acting award ang lead star na si Ken Chan. Ilang araw pa lang  mula nang mag-pilot episode ito, Ken has been drawing crowds, at bagay lamang na sa kanya mu­ling ipinagkatiwala ang pagganap sa mga mahihirap at challenging roles tulad ng ginawa niya sa “Destiny Rose.”

Ngayon naman ay sa “My Special Tatay” na kitang-kita na todo-bigay  lagi ang pagbibigay-buhay niya rito. Makikita sa kanyang performance na inaral niyang maigi ang kanyang karakter, kaya naman kapani-paniwala siya sa mga manonood.

Walang bahid ng Ken Chan ang napapanood ng viewers tuwing hapon, dahil solid ang pag-arte niya bilang Boyet sa kuwento.

Samantala, kailangang abangan ang magiging kapalaran ni Boyet lalo na’t mukhang napasasama siya sa mga iresponsableng barkada. Dahil na rin si­guro sa lungkot niya nang mabasted ng best friend na si Carol (Arra San Agustin), pinili niyang maghanap ng ibang mapagkakaabalahan. Pero alagaan naman kaya siya ng bago niyang barkada ngayon?

BILL FOR PROMOTING FILM AND TV TOURISM

PUMASOK na rin si Sen. Sonny Angara sa mundo ng pelikula hindi para umarte o para magprodyus kundi para isulong ang batas na na nagbibigay ng tax incentives sa mga dayuhang filmmakers at TV producers para maengganyo sila  na gumawa ng pelikula sa ating bansa at ipakita ang mga maga-gandang lokas­yon at tourist spots dito.

Sa isang tsikahan na ipi­natawag ni Atty. Ferdinand Topacio to bridge the senator to the entertainment media, Sen. Angara explains that “Film and TV tourism is an important marketing tool— locally-shot international movies can serve as huge ‘advertising billboards’ that will surely entice foreign tourists to visit the country.”

Kamakailan lamang, na-feature ang Banaue Rice Terraces in Ifugao province in Cordillera in the Marvel Studio’s blockbuster movie “Avengers: In-finity War.”

After this feature, the Duterte administration identified Ifugao as the country’s next  major tourist destination, given its well-preserved natural envi-ronment and indigenous culture, customs and traditions.

“Film tourism is a growing phenomenon wherein tourists visit destinations that they saw in movies, television or videos. We have to take advantage of this trend by encouraging foreign film producers to shoot here in our country in exchange for certain benefits,” he said further.

Thus, Sen. Angara filed Senate Bill 1330 or the “Philippine Film and Television Tourism Act” which aims to grant international or foreign film or TV production tax and duty free importation of filming equipment. The bill likewise gives foreign film producers and TV producers with multiple entry visa valid for one year.

Ang panukala ay may mandato rin ng paglikha ng Philippine Film and Television Tourism Authority (PFTTA), na siyang magpa-facilitate ng one-stop-shop system for foreign film and TV entities doing location shoot in the country. Magiging tagapagtaguyod din ang ahensiya ng promosyon ng Filipinas bilang isang location site para sa pagpoprodyus ng international films and TV programs.

Bukod sa pag-attract ng mga turista, film and TV tourism could help generate employment opportunities, recognize Filipino talent and enhance the Philippines’ international profile.

“We should recognize the tourism industry’s multiplier effect on jobs, as well as the economic activity it brings into our country, especially to the countryside,” pagwawakas ng senador.
