LEGAL EXPERT TO BUSINESS MENTOR

Backed up with 20 solid years of legal practice, Atty. Rheineir Mora founded R.P Mora & Co (now MSMA), one of Cebu’s largest professional services firms to provide an array of services to entrepreneurs including accounting, tax advocacy and compliance, and business consultancy.

In 2017, Atty. Mora joined the roster of high-caliber mentors of the Kapatid Mentor ME program of the Department of Trade and Industry and Go Negosyo. He shared that his years of mentoring entrepreneurs have been fulfilling as this greatly affects their entrepreneurial journey and success.

His experience of dealing with clients has guided him in his mission to help mentees. Presentations and discussions which are often technical have been adjusted to informative and understandable formats. Likewise, he shares his real-life experiences to motivate them to reach success.

Despite the limitations during this pandemic, Atty. Mora shared that he is still in touch with some of his mentees who continue to adapt their learning from the KMME Program. He reiterates the need to be creative and adaptive to the new normal and to focus on making technology-driven systems.

“Filipinos are known to be people who are resilient and when motivated are driven to succeed. Do not let this pandemic stop you from dreaming for a better Philippines, in your ways improve yourselves, adapt to this new normal, and strive for success.”

A cup of “swer-tea”

Maria Aizza Evalaroza is the proud owner of AizTea teashop. She originally got the idea from lining up at the port in Cebu and saw how milk tea was prepared.

She first opened up shop in a town not familiar with milk tea products. Having prior experience in the area of sales and coffee shops, Aizza poured over what she had learned into her business. She has concocted several drinks through a mix-and-match process, while setting up a menu that is recognizable among the youth and professionals. Gradually, the shop became known in her town and she started to expand it.

At the onset of pandemic, she was forced to close her newly-expanded branch in Tagbilaran. To keep AizTea afloat, Aizza and her team resorted to pick-up and deliveries of her products, through orders from Facebook.

During these times, Aizza enrolled in the Kapatid Mentor ME – Money Market Online (KMME-MME) Program of Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Go Negosyo. During the program, she learned from the mentors and her co-mentees on how to navigate the new situation that we are in.

With the quality and popularity of her product, AizTea has gained attention to those who wanted to opt for a franchise. Now, almost a year after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, AizTea now has thirteen branches located around Bohol, which is an achievement from a single surviving branch in Talibon.
