LIFESTYLE OF THE RICH (During lockdown)

(Karugtong)

SA KABILA ng magkaibang katayuan  sa buhay, magkapareho rin ang nararamdaman ng nakaririwasa at hindi nakaririwasa sa panahong ito ng COVID-19 pandemic.

On the second week of ECQ the “rich” are very uneasy on how their life became so small confined in their homes with garden, pool, big kitchen, but like the rest of the country they still feel trapped. Some let go (with sweldo) of their household helps, driver, house boy. So they can be with their family.  “That is my contribution to the community,” ayon sa kapitbahay kong si Carol.

The dilemma is they have so much food stored but no one really wants to cook on a daily basis. “Ang init sa mukha, nakakapagod, it’s making me stress more.  The answer: a Chef (who also lost their work due to lockdown) we can help each other.  Chef can buy and cook the food that my family wants. Oh boy, my family has different wants and taste,” sabi pa ni Carol, its funny but it’s true.

One thing I know is most of the “real” rich are very nice, God fearing (especially the family oriented generation) and very grateful on what they have. When they saw in the news that a lot of our kababayans are starving, they donated right away the stored foods that they have; directly to people who need it the most. Ayaw nila na naka-post pa, ayaw rin nila na  nasa news sila. Bakit pa raw? They don’t even want their names to be mentioned. I know someone who sent money to the province to buy 15 sacks of rice and give it to the whole barangay para wala raw magutom.

For the “wealthy” (ultra-rich) they finally settled in there second homes, where they can hunker down until this pandemic is over. Unlike the “rich” they have no problem who will be cooking their food or cleaning their home, they already have a chef with them along with staff that will cater on their needs.

Most of them if not all of them own a big corporation and also a Foundation or Charity Organization. The purpose of this is to help them navigate their taxes (this is for another topic) and to help the community right away on any calamities, and now even hospitals are in dire need of PPE suits.

They did act fast with their donations, some of them you saw in the news from SM Foundation, San Miguel, Ayala, Aboitiz, Lopez Group and a lot more.

Their company lost a lot because of this lockdown, but they are also the ones who donated a lot.
