LUMAGUI: BIR LESSENS CORRUPTION AND RED-TAPE WITH 100% RESOLUTION & COMPLIANCE RATES FOR JAN-JUNE 2023

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), headed by Commissioner Romeo D. Lumagui Jr., achieved 100% Resolution and 100% Compliance Rates in complaints handling for six (6) consecutive months from January to June 2023. This is based on the report from the Office of the President’s 8888 Citizens’ Complaint Center (8888 CCC).

“The BIR will address all corruption and red-tape complaints. I am committed to professionalizing the BIR and to establishing a culture of integrity amongst its ranks,” said Commissioner Lumagui.

For the said period, the BIR has received a total of seven hundred thirty-four (734) citizens’ concerns, which were acted upon/resolved and closed within the 72-hour compliance period.

Said accomplishments translate to “a compliance rate of 100% on the 72-hour compliance period and 100% resolution rate on all referred concerns within this period.”
