MATAPOS na makapagtala ang Taal volcano ng tinatawag na ‘increase seismic activity’, binalaan ng Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) ang publiko sa posibleng magmatic eruption.
Base sa inilabas na Taal advisory kahapon ng alas-12:30 ng tanghali, may naitalang 2,015 volcanic tremors, 734 low-frequency volcanic earthquakes at 18 hybrid earthquake events.
Sa datos ng PHIVOLCS, umabot sa 1,184 tons kada araw ang sulfur dioxide gas emission simula Marso 21.
Sa ngayon, nasa Alert Level 2 ang Bulkang Taal.
“Alert Level 2 (Increased Unrest) is currently maintained over Taal Volcano but that unrest has been elevating and is under constant evaluation,” pahayag ng PHILVOCS
“Civil aviation authorities must advise pilots to avoid flying close to the volcano as airborne ash and ballistic fragments from sudden explosions and wind-remobilized ash may pose hazards to aircraft,” ayon sa Taal advisory.
Sa gitna ng Alert Level 2, asahan ang steam-driven o phreatic explosions, volcanic earthquakes, minor ashfall, at lethal accumulations o expulsions ng volcanic gas sa Taal Volcano Island.
“Most earthquake events occurred at shallow depths of (less than) 2 kilometers although some large earthquakes were generated in the deeper 2-6 kilometers region beneath the Taal Volcano Island (TVI) edifice,” dagdag pa sa nasabing advisory.
Ayon sa PHIVOLCS, ang “harmonic tremor associated with magma migration” ay isang klase ng lindol na siyang nagaganap simula pa nitong Marso 19.
Dahilan ito para muling magbabala ang PHIVOLCS na mahigpit na ipinagbabawal ang pagpasok sa Taal Volcano Island, Permanent Danger Zone ng Taal lalo na sa bisinidad ng Main Crater at Daang Kastila fizzure gayundin bawal muna ang occupancy at boating sa lawa. VERLIN RUIZ
