MAHIGIT na sa dalawang milyong indibidwal sa Filipinas ang nakatanggap na ng first dose ng COVID-19 vaccine, habang nasa 514,655 naman na ang fully vaccinated na, o nakatanggap na rin ng second dose ng bakuna.
Ito ang iniulat ni Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje kahapon sa publiko sa Laging Handa press briefing.
Ayon kay Cabotaje, nasa 2,539,693 doses na ng bakuna ang na-administered sa may 1,047 active vaccination sites sa buong bansa hanggang Mayo 11.
Kabuuang 2,025,038 katao naman na ang nakatanggap ng unang dose, kabilang ang 1,195,381 health workers, 466,899 senior citizens, 353,842 persons with comorbidities, at 8,916 essential workers.
Sa 514,655 indibidwal na fully vaccinated na, 355,242 ang health workers, 25,070 ang senior citizens, at 134,343 na persons with comorbidities.
Sinabi pa ni Cabotaje na nasa 23% pa ng 1.5 milyong health workers na kasama sa vaccination master list ang hindi pa rin nababakunahan sa ngayon.
Karamihan sa mga ito ay nasa ibang rehiyon matapos na iprayoridad ng pamahalaan sa pagbabakuna ang National Capital Region (NCR) matapos ang pag-surge ng COVID-19 cases doon.
Aniya pa, nasa 6% pa lamang ng 7.7 milyong senior citizens na nakarehistro para sa vaccination ang nakatanggap na ng bakuna.
Karamihan sa mga matatandang nabakunahan na ay nasa mga lugar na itinuturing na COVID-19 hotspots gaya ng Metro Manila, Calabarzon, at Central Luzon.
Una nang sinabi ng pamahalaan na target nilang makapagbakuna ng mula 50 milyon hanggang 70 milyong Pinoy ngayong taon. Ana Rosario Hernandez
