DAVAO CITY – Magkakaroon na ng pagkakataon ang mga produkto ng Mindanao na makapasok sa US market, partikular sa Filipino-American communities sa Los Angeles, California, ayon sa Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA).
Ito ay kasunod ng pakikipagpulong ni MinDA Sec. Emmanuel Piñol sa mga opisyal at kinatawan ng Davao Association USA (DAUSA) at Filipino-American Communities in Los Angeles (FACLA) noong Huwebes.
“We have to take advantage of this huge market in LA to promote and sell our Mindanao products,” wika ni Piñol.
Inatasan niya ang kanyang International Relations and Investment Promotions team na maghanda para sa inisyatibang ito.
“We have to identify potential MinDA Coordinating Officers based in LA who are willing to represent the interest of Mindanao, as well as to pro-mote our products in various trade and business activities there,” ani Piñol.
Nauna nang tinukoy ng MinDA si Ben Lao, may-ari ng Lao Integrated Farms Inc. san Barangay Eman Bansalan, Davao del Sur, bilang isa sa USDA-accredited products at potential pilot provider ng mga produkto na ibebenta sa LA.
Sa pahayag ni DAUSA at FACLA president Fernandico Gonong Jr. sa MinDA, ang LA ay kinabibilangan ng may 500 Fil-Am associations.
“We have the largest concentration of Filipinos in US and this ‘bayanihan’ or networking for Mindanao products is really promising,” ani Gonong.
“For a better linkage of market products such as frozen bangus and coconut-based commodities, we need to establish a strong e-business platform in addition to the house-to-house delivery,” sabi pa niya. PNA
