Matapos ang pakikipag-usap sa Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) at ayuda ng Games and Amusements Board (GAB), pinayagan ng local government ng Pampanga ang pagbubukas ng dalawang pinakabagong professional league sa bansa ngayon (Hulyo 18) sa Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center sa San Fernando, Pampanga.
Naunang inanunsiyo ang opening noong Hulyo 17, ngunit nagdesisyon ang league officials na iurong ito para mas mapaghandaan ang safety and health protocols.
Sa NBL opener, magtutuos ang Bulacan DF Republicans at Spartan Sulong STAN sa alas-6 ng gabi habang magsasagupa naman ang Glutagence Glow Boosters at Pacific Water Queens para sa simula ng unang women’s professional basketball league ng bansa sa alas- 4 ng hapon.
Nakatakdang sundan ng dalawang liga ang Home-Venue-Home set-up kung saan bawal pa rin ang live audience.
