NICKEL MINE OUTPUT TATAAS NGAYONG TAON

“Mine output was lower in 2017 predominantly due to weather in  the Philippines. Whilst the ban had an impact there is evidence to suggest that the prevailing reason for the decline was the poor weather and technical issues,” aniya.

“Therefore, with better weather we would expect to see an improved mine output. This is because the ban only impacts new projects,” dagdag pa niya.

“The suspension on nickel mines would continue this year then it would have an impact on the country’s total nickel mine output this year,” sabi pa ni Wilkes.

“We believe a suspension on nickel mines would have impact total output this year.”

“We do not have figure for how much this would be if the suspension is continued, however, in our opinion we would anticipate output to be towards the lower end of the range specific of the back of last year’s 33 percent fall.”

“The largest decrease in production took place in the Philippines, owing to the continued suspension of as many as one-half of the country’s mining operations for failing to meet environmental standards,” sabi ng USGS sa annual report nito na may titulong “Mining Commodities Summaries 2018”.  JASPER ARCALAS
