NILAGDAAN NG PINAS, SOKOR: AGRI, TRADE, TECH DEALS

NILAGDAAN ng Filipinas at South Korea ang mga kasunduan sa agrikultura, kalakalan, at siyensiya at teknolohiya sa three-day official visit ni Pangulong Duterte sa naturang bansa.

Sa presidential Blue House sa Seoul ay sinaksihan nina Presidente Duterte at South Korean leader Moon Jae In ang pag­lagda sa mga sumusunod: memorandum of understanding hinggil sa pagtutulungan sa larangan ng transport sa pagitan ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) at ng Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport; scientific at technological cooperation sa pagitan ng Department of Science and Technology (DOST) at ng  Ministry of Science and ICT; at trade and economic cooperation sa pagitan ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) at ng Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

Nilagdaan din ang isang loan agreement sa New Cebu International Container Port Project sa pagitan ng pamahalaan ng Filipinas at ng Export-Import Bank of Korea.

Samantala, ang memorandum of understanding sa agricultural cooperation ay nilagdaan nina Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol at Acting Minister Kim Hyeon Soo ng  Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs bago ang bilateral meeting sa Blue House.

“With the MOU on Agricultural Cooperation signed today, various activities are now being lined up, including technology transfer on mechanization and irrigation,” ayon kay  Piñol.

Sa ilalim ng kasunduan, isusulong ng dalawang bansa ang pagtutulungan sa pagpapalitan ng impormasyon sa agricultural at rural development policies; technical partnership at pagpapalitan ng exports upang i-promote ang sektor ng agrikultura; at rural developments at cooperation sa agriculture development na naglalayong matiyak ang seguridad sa pagkain.

“Furthermore, the Philippines and South Korea will promote cooperation in technology and skills development on irri-gation and drainage systems, mechanization of agriculture, agricultural research, and enchancement of post-harvest management and the distribution system,” nakasaad pa sa MOU.
