(Nitong Marso) UTANG NG PINAS LUMOBO PA SA P12.68-T

PUMALO na sa P12.68 trillion ang utang ng bansa nitong Marso sa gitna ng pangangalap ng pondo ng pamahalaan para tugunan ang COVID-19 health crisis, ayon sa  Bureau of the Treasury (BTr).

Ang numero, na nagpapakita ng 17.7% annual increase, ay mas mataas sa naunang P12.09 trillion record na naitala noong Pebrero.

Sa naturang halaga, P8.87 trillion ang domestic debt ng gobyerno habang P3.81 trillion ang foreign debt.

“For March, the NG successfully raised P457.80 billion through its domestic Retail Treasury Bond issuance and debt exchange transaction,” sabi ng BTr.

“The increment to external debt was due to the net availment of external financing amounting to P122.69 billion including the P117.33 billion ($2.25 billion) triple tranche five-year, 10.5-year and 25-year Global Bonds,” ayon pa sa Treasury.

“The effect of Peso depreciation against the USD added ₱37.31 billion which was tempered by adjustments in third currencies which trimmed ₱29.17 billion,” added the bureau.

Iniulat pa ng BTr na bumaba ang guaranteed obligations ng gobyerno ng P5.16 billion sa P411.04 billion noong katapusan ng Marso. Ayon sa Treasury,  P760 million na domestic guarantees at P1.55 billion na foreign guarantees ang na-settle sa naturang panahon.
