NAKALIKOM ang bansa ng mahigit P760 billion na kita sa turismo noong 2024, ayon sa Department of Tourism (DOT).
”Well, the good news is that Philippine tourism was able to garner an all-time high in visitor revenues from our international tourists at around… over 760 billion pesos,” pahayag ni Secretary Christina Frasco.
”This represents over 9% increase from our 2023 visitor revenues and a 126% recovery from the 600 billion visitor receipts in 2019,” dagdag pa niya.
Ayon kay Frasco, ipinakikita ng mga numero na economically, “our recovery in Philippine tourism performance has already exceeded our pre-pandemic numbers.”
Aniya, patuloy ang pagkilos ng ahensiya upang matiyak ang pagtaas sa bilang ng tourist arrivals sa bansa.
“But I think it is also important to highlight the challenges that the Philippines faced which then led to our numbers not reaching the targeted projections for 2024, iyong 7.7 million arrivals – ang dumating 5.9 million arrivals,” dagdag pa niya.
