IIMBESTIGAHAN ng University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) ang umano’y pagsasanay ng mga player ng National University sa kabila ng paghihigpit ng gobyerno sa gitna ng COVID-19 pandemic.
Ito ay kasunod ng pagpupulong ng mga opisyal ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), Games and Amusement Board (GAB), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Health (DOH), at ng UAAP upang talakayin ang umano’y paglabag sa protocols ng University of Santo Tomas men’s basketball team.
Napag-alaman na pinagpapaliwanag ng UAAP ang NU hinggil sa umano’y pagsasanay ng mga volleyball player nito sa gitna ng community quarantine.
“Safety of our students is the topmost concern,” wika ni CHED chairman Prospero De Vera III sa isang statement.
Samantala, isinasapinal pa ng UST ang imbestigasyon nito sa umano’y ‘Sorsogon bubble’ ng men’s basketball team nito.
Umaasa ang UAAP na matatanggap ang final report ng imbestigasyon ng UST bago ang kanilang miting sa Biyernes.
Ayon kay GAB chair Baham Mitra, muling magpupulong ang body sa September 1. Inaasahan ng PSC ang pagdalo ng mga kinatawan ng UST at NU para maresolba ang isyu.
