CORDILLERA- UMAABOT sa P11 milyong halaga ng marijuana plants ang sinunog nang pinagsanib na puwersa ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Cordillera at pulisya matapos salakayin ang tatlong plantasyon sa kabundukan ng nasabing rehiyon noong Martes.

Sa dalawang araw na search and destroy operations ng mga awtoridad sa pakikipagtulungan ng CIDG ope­ratives at Philippine Navy, sinalakay ang 3 marijuana plantations sa liblib na bahagi ng Tibglayan sa lalawigan ng Kalinga.

Ayon sa PDEA-Cordillera, ito ang pinakabagong na marijuana eradication sa kabundukan ng Kalinga kung saan nagmumula ang supply ng marijuana na ipinupuslit patungong Metro Manila at karatig lalawigan.

“The massive move will continue and shall be sustained until the last plant sites is eradicated. This will substantially cut-off the supply chain as part of the battlecry of the President’s war on drugs,” pahayag ni PDEA-Cordillera Director Gil Castro.

Base sa tala ng PDEA-Cordillera, ilang drug traders na nagtangkang magpuslit ng marijuana bricks mula sa ibat ibang lugar sa Northern Luzon ang nasabat na ng mga operatiba bago pa makarating sa NCR mula sa bayan ng Tinglayan na sinasabing pugad ng marijuana plantations. MHAR BASCO
