UMAABOT sa P13.9 bilyon ang ipinasok ng Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) sa national treasury, ayon sa report na nakalap ng pahayagang ito mula sa pamunuan ng ahensiya.

Nakasaad sa naturang report na ito ay ang kinita o remittances na pumasok sa kanilang tanggapan sa loob ng apat na ta-on mula  2016 hanggang  2019.

Ito ang tinatawag na breaking fiscal performance ng MIAA noong  2018 dahil sa remittance performance, kung saan nakapag-remit ito ng halagang P3.42 bilyon  sa national treasury noong 2018.

Ayon kay MIAA General Manager Ed Monreal, ito ang kanilang pinakamataas na  remittances matapos ipagkaloob ng pamahalaan ang kanilang fiscal autonomy sa loob ng nakaraang dalawang dekada.

Aniya, tumaas ang remittances ng MIAA na may kinalaman sa ilalim ng fiscal autonomy, at sa suporta ng Department of Transportation (DOTr), at ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.

At sa pamamagitan nito napapanatili ng MIAA na kasama sa “Billionaires Club“ o tinatawag na Elite circle ng Government Owned and Control Corporation (GOCC) ang pagpapasok ng bilyong pisong dividend sa national government.
