MISAMIS ORIENTAL- MULI na namang napurdoy ang smuggling syndicates sa kanilang modus operandi matapos masabat ng Bureau of Customs-Port of Cagayan de Oro ang 12 containers na naglalaman ng smuggled agricultural products na may standard value na P36 milyon mula sa Mindanao International Container Terminal Port sa bayan ng Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental nitong Huwebes.
Kaagad na nagpalabas ng Pre-Lodgement Control Orders (PLCOs) si Atty. Elvira Cruz, district port collector laban sa nasabing shipments matapos makatanggap ng derogatory information na may posibilidad na misdeclaration ng agricultural products.
Nabatid na ang 12 containers shipments ay nagmula sa China at naka-consigned sa Frankie Trading Enterprises at Primex Export and Import Producer kung saan idineklarang “Spring Roll Patti” at “Plain Churros” subalit isinailalim sa masusing inspection ay tone-toneladang red at white onions.
Nag-isyu na ng Warrants of Seizure and Detention ang BOC laban sa 12 containers shipments dahil sa paglabag sa Section 1400 (Misdeclaration of Goods) at Section 117 (Regulated Importation) of Republic Act (RA) 10863 (Customs Modernization and Tariff Act) at RA 10845 (Anti-Agricultural Smuggling Act).

Nanatili naman alerto ang personnel at staff ng BOC- Port of Cagayan de Oro partikular sa Northern Mindanao laban sa smuggled agricultural products na masyadong naapektuhan ang local farming industry ng bansa. MHAR BASCO
