NAKAIPON na ng mahigit Php 75 million ang grupong Filipino Chinese Community Calamity Fund (FCCCF) na pinangungunahan ng 11 major Filipino Chinese business, civic & cultural organizations para sa kanilang typhoon:Odette relief operations.
Ayon kay FCCCF Chairman and President Dr. Henry Lim Bon Liong na layon ng kanilang proyekto na matulungan ang mga biktimang bagyo sa Visayas at Mindanao.
Sa ginanap na Pandesal Forum sa Kamuning Bakery Cafe sa Quezon City, ipinagkaloob ni Lim ang P1 million donasyon sa PhilStar Operation Damayan at P1 million sa GMA Kapuso Foundation na bahagi rin ng kanilang nalikom na calamity fund.
Una rito inihayag ni Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian na tone toneladang bigas ang kanilang naipaabot sa mga malalayong lugar na mahirap marating sa pamamagitan ng FCCCF at mga Chinese community sa area.
Ang FCCCF ay binubuo ng 11 major Filipino Chinese organizations na pinangungunahan ng Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) at ng kanyang philanthropic arm FFCCCII Foundation Inc.; Federation of Filipino Chinese Associations of the Philippines; Philippine Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (PCCCII); Overseas Chinese Alumni Association of the Philippines; World News Daily; Filipino Chinese Amity Club; Filipino Chinese Shin Lian Association; Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Philippines; Philippine Soong Ching Ling Foundation; Philippine Jin Jiang Shen Fu Zhen Association; at World Fujian Youth Association Business Club.
Ayon kay Lim, ang FFCCCII na isang non-government organization na nagsimulang mangalap ng donasyon mula sa mga Filipino-Chinese civic and cultural groups, entrepreneurs and professionals noong Marso12 ng nakaraang taon para ayudahan ang sambayanan sa epekto ng COVID-19.
“Our Filipino-Chinese community, especially the FFCCCII, has been actively coordinating with the Chinese Embassy through Ambassador Huang Xilian for the Philippines’ traditional friend and ancient trade partner China to send us their humanitarian assistance of medical supplies donations whether from the Chinese government, companies like Huawei or TikTok and philanthropists like Jack Ma,” ani Lim.
