PARA kay National Task Force COVID-19 Deputy Chief Implementer Vivencio Dizon, dapat maging bukas ang lahat sa anomang rekomendasyon upang hindi madisgrasya sa COVID-19 Delta variant gayundin ang proposal na “circuit break” lockdown sa Metro Manila.
Aniya, layunin nito na piglan ang bagong variant na nakaimpeksiyon na ng 25 katao sa Metro Manila.
“This is to curb the spread of COVID-19 variants, including Delta, which has infected some Filipinos already,” ayon kay Dizon.
Bagaman may mga bakuna na hindi dapat magpakampante ang mamamayang Pilipino at iwasang matulad sa ibang bansa gaya sa Estados Unidos na umabot sa 80 percent umano ang nagka-COVID-19 Delta variant subalit dahil malaki ng porsiyento ay bakunado kaya wala gaanong naiiulat na peligro.
“We’ve seen the experience of other countries, we need to prepare here and we should be open to all options on what to do,” paliwanag ni Dizon sa proposal ng OCTA Research group na dapat magpatupad ng circuit break lockdown.
Magugunitang sinabi ni Ranjit Rye, ng OCTA Research, na ang circuit breaker lockdown ay “go early, go hard” strategy para makaiwas sa matinding epekto ng Delta variant.
Gayunman, dapat aniyang balansehin pa rin ng pamahalaan ang mga panuntunan mula sa mga eksperto.
“We will try to look for a balance solution, but Delta variant is really dangerous that’s why we really need to prepare and fast track our vaccination (program),” ani Rye.
Aminado naman si Dizon na hindi niya masasabi pa kung handa ang pamahalaan sa pagsirit ng kaso ng Delta variant lalo na’t may collegial body na magrerekomenda at magdedesisyon para sa mga panuntunan laban sa paglawak ng nakahahawang sakit,
“I cannot say because this is unpredictable, we’ve seen what happened abroad, no one was ready but we will try hard to be prepared. Ready with the supplies that we will need, prepare the ICU beds, the regular bed, and let us prepare also for more and speedier vaccination,” dagdag pa ni Dizon.
