MAGRERESULTA ng malawak na oportunidad ang nakatakdang talumpati ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa Australian parliament.
Ito ang pahayag ni Foreign Affairs spokesperson Ma. Teresita Daza dahil magdudulot ito ng makabuluhang hakbang para sa Pilipinas upang maibahagi ang mga pananaw para sa kinabukasan sa Australia.
“It is significant because as mentioned already [in] many of the articles, it will be the first time a Philippine President will be speaking before the Parliament of Australia,” ayon kay Daza.
“This is a very good opportunity for the Philippines not only to underscore the shared vision about the future with Australia and this coming after the two of us elevating our partnership to strategic partnership, but will also help us underscore both countries as maritime nations have actually committed to adherence to the rules-based order international law,” anang DFA official.
Ibinida rin ni Daza na masasama si Pangulong Marcos sa hanay ng world leaders na nagtalumpati sa Australian Parliament kabilang ang mag-amang US Presidents George H.W. Bush at George W. Bush, President Barack Obama, Hu Jintao ng People’s Republic of China, UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Indonesian President Joko Widodo at Chinese President Xi Jinping.
“So, it will be very significant, it will be an opportunity for both – for the President to discuss the close and enduring relations between the two countries but at the same time see how we can actually explore areas to further deepen the relations,” dagdag pa ni Daza.
Ang pagbisita ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. sa Canberra ay unang bahagi lamang ng kanyang pagbisita sa Australia dahil nakatakda rin itong bumalik muli sa Marso 4-6 para dumalo sa ASEAN- Australia Special Summit.
Nakatakdang tumulak patungong Canberra, Australia ang Pangulong Marcos ngayong umaga.
