PAGKAKAISA TUNGO SA GENDER MAINSTREAMING SA ASEAN REGION IPINANAWAGAN

HINIMOK ni Civil Service Commission (CSC) Chairperson Karlo Alexei Nograles ang mga delegado mula sa iba’t ibang ASEAN Member States (AMS) na magkaisa at magtulungan upang makamit ang adhikaing pagkakapantay-pantay ng kasarian at higit pang palakasin ang ugnayan sa rehiyon.

“May we all stand united toward ensuring an integrated, proactive, and gender responsive environment, as we start in our own respective organizations, moving outwards to the ASEAN Region,” pahayag ng CSC head sa kanyang pananalita sa isang malaking pagtitipon, na may titulong “Strengthening the Institutional Building Blocks for Implementing the ASEAN Gender Mainstreaming Strategic Framework: Support to the ASEAN Cooperation on Civil Service Matters (ACCSM).”

Ang nasabing okasyon ay inorganisa at pinamahalaan ng CSC, sa pamamagitan ng Civil Service Institute (CSI) at itinaguyod ng ASEAN-USAID Partnership for Regional Optimization within the Political-Security and Socio-Cultural Communities (PROSPECT) na ginanap sa Belmont Hotel Manila, Pasay City kamakailan.

Kasama sa mga dumalo ay mula sa ACCSM at ASEAN Committee on Women (ACW) ng siyam na AMS, katulad, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pilipinas, Thailand, at Vietnam, kasama ang Timor-Leste kung saan mayroon ding online-streaming sa pamamagitan ng Zoom.

Ayon kay Nograles, layunin nito na pagsama-samahin ang kaalaman, input, at karanasan ng mga kalahok tungo sa paggawa ng Enhanced Gender Mainstreaming Toolkit na tumutugon sa Gender and Development (GAD) at Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI).

Sinabi rin ni Nograles na gaya ng itinakda sa ASEAN Socio-cultural Community Blueprint 2025, ang AMS ay nakatuon sa pagbuo ng mga panrehiyong istratehiya at pagpapahusay sa kapasidad ng institusyon para sa pag-usad ng kasarian sa mga polisiya, programa at badyet ng ASEAN.

“Develop regional strategies and enhance institutional capacity for gender mainstreaming in ASEAN policies, programmes and budgets across pillars and sectors as well as to support ASEAN Member States’ initiatives in strengthening national gender and age-disaggregated databases and analyses, including poverty and equity, and establish a reliable regional database for key sectors to support ASEAN policies and programmes,” pahayag pa ng

“We can only be successful in fulfilling these commitments if we are dedicated and transparent to admit what’s lacking in our existing policies and systems, acknowledge what really needs to be done and to get rid of, and bravely move forward with concrete strategic plans that are inclusive, responsive, and fair,” dagdag pa niya.
