PINARANGALAN ng Kagawaran ng Agrikultura para sa Gitnang Luzon, sa pangunguna ng Gender and Development Focal Point System, ang mga natatanging kababaihan sa sektor ng agrikultura at pangisdaan na may temang “Pagkilala kay Juana sa Panahon ng Pandemya” nitong ika-12 ng Oktubre sa DA-RFO 3 Conference Hall, Capitol Compound, San Fernando, Pampanga.

Ang pagkilalang ito ay taunang ginagawa ng kagawaran upang bigyang pugay ang mga kababaihang nagbibigay ng natatanging kontribusyon sa sektor ng agrikultura at pangisdaan.

“Sa pamamagitan ng ating Gender and Development Program, layunin din po natin na mabigyan ng oportunidad o pagkakataong makilahok sa mas maraming aspeto ng buhay at kabuhayan ang mga babae at makilala at mabigyang halaga ang suporta nila sa pamilya, sa komunidad at sa ekonomiya ng bansa.

Ang pagbibigay parangal sa mga natatanging kababaihan na ginagawa natin ay isang paraan upang makapagbigay inspirasyon sa mga kababaihan upang lumantad, magpakilala at magpakitang gilas,” wika ng Regional GAD Focal Person ng Gitnang Luzon Dr. Irene M. Adion.

Nahahati sa apat na kategorya ang naparangalang kababaihan para sa taong 2021:

1. Outstanding Young Farmer – Andrea Lindsay B. Duran mula sa Brgy. Basuit, San Ildefonso, Bulacan

2. Outstanding Women Educator – Redemcion E. Ramoso mula sa Brgy. Sto. Cristo, Maria Aurora, Aurora

3. Outstanding Women Entrepreneur – Aurora F. Manglicmot mula sa Brgy. Laoag, Cabangan, Zambales

4. Outstanding Rural Women – Annette C. Patdu mula sa Brgy. Sta. Barbara, Bacolor, Pampanga

Sa mensahe naman ng panauhing pandangal na si Ann Ray V. Rivera na tumatayong direktor ng Gender Equality and Social Inclusion, ang taunang pagkilala sa mga magigiting na rural women ay napakahalaga para sa mga kababaihan at sa Kagawaran ng Agrikultura. Hindi man karamihan ang mga babae sa sektor ng agrikultura sa kasalukuyan, sa pamamagitan ng lahat na masisipag na agripreneurs ay patuloy na lumalawak ang bilang ng mga kababaihan at mga kabataan na pumapasok sa agrikultura.
