INIHAYAG ng OCTA research team na aabutin pa ng ilang linggo ang ‘surge’ o pagsipa ng kaso ng COVID-19 sa bansa.

Ayon kay Prof. Ranjit Rye na bagamat mababa ang kaso ng virus sa Metro Manila, hindi naman maikakaila ang mataas pa ring kaso nito sa iba’t-iba pang mga lungsod.

Mababatid na ito ang dahilan kung bakit inirekomenda ng research team na ibalik muna sa modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) ang NCR plus matapos itong isailalim sa mahigpit na restriksyon.

Paliwanag ni Rye, kung agaran kasing ibabalik ang rehiyon sa general community quarantine (GCQ), panigurado anito na mawawalang saysay ang mga ginawang hakbang ng pamahalaan kontra COVID-19.

Bukod pa rito, ani Rev. Fr. Nicanor Austriaco na isang molecular biologist at miyembro ng naturang research team na posibleng sa unang linggo pa ng buwang ito maramdaman ang epekto ng pinairal na ECQ. DWIZ882
